BOOK COVER CONTEST
We received tons of great entries for the Book Cover Contest, including for some books that had already been published! Because of the variety of entries, making a final decision was very difficult, and ultimately we decided to let our audience pick the winner via poll!

COMEDY CONTEST WINNERS
Our winner of the comedy contest was intern extraordinaire C. A. Marshall! She has won the following: a bag of confectionary goodies and a critique of the first 50 pages of her novel. The 50-page critique can be substituted by a critique of the first three chapters of a novel, a query letter critique, or a guest post on Let the Words Flow. This was her entry:

I’ve been waiting ages for this! The last time it happened was in 1976!
As you guys know, I got my MA in Creative Writing at Newcastle University in the north east of England. While there, I did some research for one of my classes, “Using Science To Enrich Your Writing” and I came across this story:
During the first Hopping, in 1976, British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC radio 2 that at 9:47 a.m. the planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that lessens the Earth’s own gravity. There was a whole seven seconds that when anyone jumped into the air, they’d jump, on average, a whole three feet higher than they normally could!
There was even a contest where people jumped up ten times and their heights were recorded and then during those seven seconds a crowd of over 100 people in the Eldon Square mall in the Newcastle City Centre watched as Basil Swinton, who was in training for the summer olympics standing high jump competition, smashed the current record held by American Ray Ewry (he set the 1.65 meter record way back on July 16, 1900) by jumping straight up over seven and a half feet!
So anyway, this time instead of Pluto passing behind Jupiter, Mars passes in front of Jupiter today at 1:29 p.m., creating what scientists are calling “Lead hopping” when all the lead in #2 pencils will leap simultaneously one foot to the left!
They’re even saying that if you can balance pencils on their erasers in a row exactly six inches apart, the pencils will leap frog each other for the seven seconds that Mars is directly in front of Jupiter!
Imagine if you don’t know about it and you’re sitting there writing longhand in a notebook! be sure to spread the word! We wouldn’t want any writers being poked in the eye!
I’ve got my pencils all set up (took forever, Mollie kept trying to eat them) and am looking forward to it!

Thanks to everyone for your entries!
Ahhh! So many awesome choicessss! I can’t decide!
You are part of the problem, lol.
Congrats CA Marshall! Your comedy entry was terrific!! 🙂
OMG! Those covers are so awesome!
I can`t decide @_@ I need a few hours to think it over lol
That was our problem! Then we ran out of hours!
Congrats, CA Marshall! I didn’t dare enter the comedy stuff as I’d fall flatter than Kansas, but I respect those who can do it. 🙂
Thanks guys! I’m so excited! I’m one of the entries for the cover contest too, but I won’t tell you which one!
YAY!
Congrats!! 😀 Good luck with the covers!
There are so many amazing entries! And a lot of them look so legit… How to choose? X___X
The covers are amazing…and they look so “real,” you would they were already on the shelves at bookstores!
