Winner of the Book Cover Contest!

15 May

Today we are pleased to announce the winner of the Book Cover Contest.

Earlier this week we asked our readers to help us make a decision through voting by poll. A clear winner emerged with almost 30% of the votes, and so we are incredibly excited to let everyone know that Victoria Dixon’s MOURN THEIR COURAGE is our winner!

Victoria will receive either a critique of a Query Letter, a critique of the first 3 chapters of a novel, or a critique of a short story.

Congratulations Victoria, and thank you to everyone who participated!

Wow! Thanks, everyone! My husband and I are surprised, honestly. I’ve dawdled over this decision for hours now, but I think I’d like the short story critique. Thank you so much!

What an intricate cover! I expect it tells quite a bit about what to expect inside. Congratulations! 🙂

I just want to thank everyone who entered. The level of quality in this contest was extremely high. Just narrowing the field to the group that was included in the poll was difficult; there were several excellent covers that couldn’t be included simply because of the number of entries. Thanks so much to all of our readers for entering and/or voting!

Congratulations, Victoria! The details on the cover are AMAZING and so beautiful it’s really reminiscent of Chinese art. I love it so much and so does my grandmother who usually hates this kind of things 🙂

    Congrats Victoria!!! 😀

Thanks for the lovely comments, Aurora and Julie. And Aurora’s Grandmother! Yes, the warrior figure on the cover is one of many heroes in the book and an iconic figure from Chinese folklore. The dragon is the Chinese symbol for the Emperor, who presence ties my whole story together.

OMGosh you just made me want to read it even more!

LOL. Thanks, Julie. ;D I just wanted to let you all know I emailed the story this morning, just in case it doesn’t come through. Thanks again!
