I won’t bore you with the details of why I have two Nano accounts, but because I’m clinically insane I’ve decided to do two novels this year.

    O.o

    Yeah.

I’m so stoked for this!!! xD

    • Kat Zhang November 1, 2011 at 3:42 AM #

      Wow!! That’s very impressive πŸ˜€

And yes, we’re totally going to rock it!!

    • Julie Eshbaugh November 1, 2011 at 6:43 AM #

Wow, two accounts?! That’s amaaazzzing! I added both of your accounts to my buddy list. πŸ™‚

    • savannahjfoley November 1, 2011 at 9:36 AM #

I considered doing two at once but I don’t think I could ever hope to pull it off. Totally admire your tenacity!!

  2. Aurora Blackguard November 1, 2011 at 6:50 AM #

Well, misery loves company, so I suppose insanity does as well!

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/samanthacheh

Thanks to you guys, my crit partner and I decided to coauthor a novel! Partly because both of us are bogged down a lot by school. ROCKON GUYS!

  3. Jessica Lewenda (@jlewenda) November 1, 2011 at 6:54 AM #

I added you guys to my buddy list!
I’m planning on writing a whole novel, and starting a new one after that. I kinda just want to see how much I can write if I push myself.

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/chibijeshka
    Good luck! πŸ™‚

    • savannahjfoley November 1, 2011 at 9:36 AM #

Love the ambition! Best of luck!

  4. kayleighskaleidoscope November 1, 2011 at 8:31 AM #

I added you all to my buddy list.

Well, I’m being a NaNo rebel–I’m gonna use the power of NaNoWriMo to kick my ass into finishing my damn novel. It’s about the start of a war between vampires and vampire hunters and I’ve been writing it on and off since August 2009. Needless to say, it’s been driving me crazy. I think I need 30 000 words to finish it, so that’s my goal.

    http://nanowrimo.org/en/participants/midnight-adrenaline

This NaNoWriMo is gonna be the best ever!

    • savannahjfoley November 1, 2011 at 9:37 AM #

I love vampires. I really hope you hit your goal!

My username is bgenenbacher. I’m writing a YA about kids in the country, tentatively titled RURAL ROUTE.

  6. Kati November 1, 2011 at 9:23 AM #

User name: PrincessKati (because I’m all creative and stuff)

I’m writing a contemp YA. It’s about a girl breaking free from her mom while dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Sounds a lot more depressing than I think it will be.

  7. Asia Morela November 1, 2011 at 9:38 AM #

That’s a great initiative ladies! πŸ˜€ Thanks for the support and inspiration!

I’m doing the NaNo for the first time: http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/asia-morela

@ Kayleigh: Doing the same here! Although I do believe I’ll need at least 50,000 more words to finish my novel, so it’s a regular NaNoWriMo for me.

    • savannahjfoley November 1, 2011 at 9:38 AM #

Yay, congratulations on your first time! I hope it’s a success for you!

  8. Chele November 1, 2011 at 9:42 AM #

    Wooo! ;DDD

    http://nanowrimo.org/en/participants/relyn

I’ve decided to just full-on wing it this year (mostly because I brilliantly forgot all about NaNo until, like, an hour before midnight on the 31st…), so I kinda know nothing about what it’ll be about except that it’s Greek myth-based fantasy. And that my MC is conveniently suffering from amnesia.

…I’m such a cheat XD Good luck all! ❀

    • savannahjfoley November 1, 2011 at 8:53 PM #

Eee, I was working on a Greek-myth-based fantasy, too!! What’s yours about?

      • Chele November 2, 2011 at 9:18 PM #

        Aah, win!

I haven’t figured it all out yet, but basically in mine immortality works differently, meaning while the Gods’ bodies don’t age their minds go senile after a couple millennia, so before they ‘retire’ they pick their replacements to carry on. My MC’s the new Persephone, except with her memory gone she’s less than perfect… and even third/fourth-generation Gods don’t do imperfect. It’s either figure out what (or who) wiped her mind, or have herself wiped entirely. Dun dun dunnn ;P

Aaand I may have just worked out another chunk of my plot typing up that paragraph, hurray! Hahah. What’s yours about? ;D

  9. Sarah Ketley November 1, 2011 at 10:03 AM #

Wow! Two NaNo Books at once!

Could not do that… Then again this is my first year so i’m not even sure i could do one. actually, scratch that, of course i can do one. Managed 3000K so far so at least i have started. (Australian so I started earlier than others)

As for me, i’m writing about a Steampunk story for mine. All about Servant girls in 1880 London.

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/sarah-ketley

    Good luck all!

If in doubt –> JUST WRITE πŸ™‚

  12. kitdunsmore November 1, 2011 at 2:39 PM #

This is year 6 for me and oddly enough I’m having more doubts than I ever have about NaNoWriMo. Maybe it’s because I still don’t know what my story is really about… Currently, it’s got a writer who creates superheroes and villains by accident as she struggles with writing class assignments.

  15. Katelyn L November 1, 2011 at 5:45 PM #

I signed up on a whim this morning… Like a few other people here, I’m using NaNo to hopefully get my butt in gear so that I can finish my current WIP, a YA fantasy novel. I’m excited! (… and maybe just a wee bit scared)

    • Katelyn L November 1, 2011 at 5:46 PM #

Whoops, and my name is klarson

I’m slowly trying to get into the excitement of NaNoWriMo. >.>

    Username: Bds13 ( http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/bds13 )

My novel has a working title or Terra Mater and it has something to do with queens, kings, gender constrictions and stuff…. i just have to figure the rest of it out….. quickly!

    • savannahjfoley November 2, 2011 at 3:45 PM #

Have you succeeded in getting excited yet?

      • Bront'e November 2, 2011 at 4:01 PM #

After meeting my goal yesterday, yeah!
I started dancing through my house xD

  17. Kristy November 1, 2011 at 10:14 PM #

Yay! I’m gonna have writing buddies! I think that helps the motivation! My user name is kyrg23…there’s a meaning behind it, of course. πŸ™‚

My story is tentatively titled Blood Lust, and it’s about a girl who is a descendent of a Native American priestess that was gifted with the Blood Lust power to protect her people. But, betrayal caused the tribe to lose the gifted power and it hasn’t been in the bloodline since…until now. The problem is, there have been no teachers to instruct her on how to use and control the power, so it’s causing her some serious problems in her life. There’s a love story that actually plays into the main plot. And more betrayal because I clearly have trust issues and just need lots of betrayal in my stories. πŸ™‚

    Good luck to everyone!

Adding all you ladies to my buddy list! This is my 3rd year of doing NaNoWriMo and I am pumped! I’m working on a story I’ve nicknamed Fairy Tale about a girl who gets sucked into another realm where not all tales are what they seem.

    • Amber November 2, 2011 at 9:56 AM #

Oops! Forgot to put my username: sammyjones57

  21. Andrea November 2, 2011 at 12:44 PM #

Starting a tad bit late but still as excited as ever!!

    http://nanowrimo.org/en/participants/remedy

My story is based a few epic dreams I’ve had over my life that were so strong, I can still remember them. It’s a fantasy/adventure character-driven story about a girl who has lost everything that matters to her, who has to learn to rely on her own strength and power, and a boy who never had anything but his own two hands, and how they come together to rebuild a place they can call home in the midst of the total chaos rampant in their world.

  22. renateestrada November 2, 2011 at 2:37 PM #

Yay NaNo! This is my first year attempting and I am usually one of those that deliberates over each word and re-writes the beginning six times before I ever reach the end, so it will be an interesting journey! I am so excited!

    • rsz November 2, 2011 at 2:40 PM #

Yay! I’m a bit behind because of… well.. life. But I did start on time! Yay! I added you guys as buddies, and hope to get involved in tomorrow (though I’m a bit later than most people in GMT).

My username is chill78 and I’m here:

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/chill78

I’m writing a fantasy that’s as-yet untitled, but it’s been in my head for about 6 months now. I’m cheating a bit, using the first few days to plot out more than I had done ahead of time, but I’m counting that towards word count since there’s so much dialogue in my plotting. Good luck everyone! πŸ™‚

  24. Heather Milton November 3, 2011 at 1:47 PM #

A bit late noticing this post, but I’m here:
    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/stargoggled
I plan on beating everyone. Joking… kinda.
I’m rewriting an old project and hopefully starting a new one too. Both are fairytale retellings because old habits die hard.

  25. Angelica Barone November 5, 2011 at 5:54 PM #

I’m going for my fourth win in eight tries! I was going to write a regency romance, but on November 1st a YA fantasy / science-fiction plot jumped into my head and I’m running with that.

    http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/anjirika

My fingers are crossed for a win…
